Institute of Banking Personnel Selection IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection acquired independent status in 1984. The credit to the initiative goes to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Nationalized Banks.Prior to 1984, the institute was a unit of National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) and was called Personnel Selection Services (PSS).
IBPS has a mandate from nineteen Public Sector Banks to conduct the eligibility exam for selection to these banks. IBPS conducts Common Recruitment Process (CWE) is accepted by nineteen nationalized banks in India. Common Recruitment Process- CWE, Common Interview and provisional allotment for recruitment of Clerical cadre posts in Participating Organisations has the approval of the appropriate authorities.

Eligibility Required: Eligibility required to apply for IBPS Clerk is as follows:
Age Limit: Candidate must be between the age of 20 years to 28 years at the time of applying.
Educational Qualification: Candidate must be a Graduate in any discipline from a University recognised by the Govt. Of India or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
– Proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT (candidates should know how to read/ write and speak the Official Language of the State/UT) for which vacancies a candidate wishes to apply is preferable.

IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern: IBPS Clerk Examination which is conducted online has total 200 questions from different sections which are as follows:

NOTE: The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
Negative Marking: For each wrong answer question by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty.

Candidates shortlisted in the examination will be called for the interview which is common for all the banks.
